When to Upgrade Your Synked Plan: Starter vs Super, With the Math
synkedpricingupgradegrowth
Plan upgrades should follow your numbers, not your ambition. At the time of writing, Synked Starter is $50 a month and Super Synked is $160 a month. Check the pricing in your Synked billing page for current terms; the logic below holds even if the numbers move.
What differs
- Active listings: Starter covers up to 1,500; Super up to 10,000.
- Included orders per month: Starter includes a few hundred tracked orders; Super includes about a thousand.
- Beyond the allowance: extra listings and extra orders are billed as overage rather than blocked.
Three checks
- Listings. If you sit at or near 1,500 active listings for weeks, you're close to the line. Overage on listings is billed per listing, so compare: the price gap between plans divided by the per-listing overage tells you how many extra listings make the bigger plan cheaper.
- Orders. Count orders over the included amount in a typical month. Extra orders are billed as a share of each order's profit, so thin-margin orders cost little in overage. A bigger plan matters when overage consistently exceeds the plan price gap.
- Time. If you're hitting the limit because the shop is growing, the cheaper path is usually to move up before you're deep into overage, not after.
A rule of thumb
If a typical month's overage is approaching the difference between the two plans, upgrade. If you only crossed a line in one unusual month, stay put and let overage absorb it. If you're nowhere near the Starter limits, a bigger plan buys you nothing.
Don't upgrade for the wrong reason
More capacity doesn't fix a catalog that isn't selling. Cut stale listings first (see why stale listings hurt), then see whether you still need more room. And match this to the rest of your costs: your eBay Store tier usually becomes worth it at a similar stage.
