Of eBay's three seller-standards metrics, late shipment rate is the one dropshippers most often trip over without realizing it, because it's measured against your stated handling time and the moment tracking is uploaded — not against when the item actually left the warehouse.
You're not shipping the item yourself — you're waiting on a third-party marketplace (Amazon) to generate its own tracking number after your order is placed, then relaying that number to eBay. Every hour spent polling for that tracking number less frequently than you could is an hour added to your effective handling time from eBay's perspective.
If your listing states 2-day handling but tracking routinely lands on day 3 because your tracking-check job only runs once every 24 hours, you are — by eBay's own definition — shipping late on every one of those orders, even if the physical package left on time.
Synked schedules its first tracking check 20 hours after an Amazon order is placed and re-checks on a short interval after that specifically to close this gap, uploading to eBay's Fulfillment API as soon as a tracking number appears.
