The 5 eBay Account-Health Metrics Worth Checking Every Week

ebayaccount healthmonitoring

eBay tells you your seller-standards status once a month. By the time it does, the 90-day window that determined it is already baked in. The sellers who never get surprised by it are checking leading indicators weekly, not waiting for the monthly report.

The five to watch

  1. Cancellation rate (trailing 90 days). Your earliest proxy for transaction defect rate — if this is climbing, the official metric will follow.
  2. Out-of-stock percentage of active listings. A leading indicator of future cancellations, not a lagging one — this number moves before the defect rate does.
  3. Orders with tracking still missing after 48 hours. A proxy for late-shipment risk that shows up well before eBay's own late-shipment rate does.
  4. Open needs-review / error orders. Orders stuck in limbo tend to resolve into either a cancellation or a late shipment if left unattended.
  5. Cases and returns trend, week over week. Even below the 0.3% threshold, a rising trend is worth investigating before it crosses the line.

Why weekly beats monthly

A 90-day trailing metric moves slowly — which is exactly why catching a bad trend in week one instead of week ten gives you time to actually fix it before it's locked into three months of history.

Synked's account-health dashboard computes all five of these continuously and flags a plain-language risk level — healthy, warning, or at-risk — using eBay's own published thresholds, so there's no need to reverse-engineer eBay's math yourself.
