Finding Dropshipping Niches That Aren't Saturated
nichesmarket researchsourcing
The most popular dropshipping niches are popular because a thousand sellers already realized they work — and competed the margin down to nothing. The real opportunity is finding the niches that don't look obvious.
Where to look
- High-specificity + brand loyalty. "Phone charger" is commodity. "iPhone 12 Pro Max MagSafe car mount" has way fewer sellers and buyers who know exactly what they want.
- Replacement/repair parts. Lower sales volume than consumables, but less competition and higher margins because buyers are locked into a specific part, not shopping alternatives.
- Category adjacency. If you know gaming, sell gaming accessories nobody else is connecting (cable organizers for gaming setups, RGB light strips for desks). Lower volume than "gaming mouse" but also way fewer sellers.
- Hobbyist supply. Model-building, retro gaming, D&D supplies — passionate buyers, willing to pay, fewer dropshippers because the volume is smaller.
The math that proves a niche is real
- At least 20–30 completed listings per week (shows consistent demand).
- Fewer than 10 "new" sellers (green star or under 10 feedback) in the top 50 search results (if there are more, it's too new and margins will collapse).
- At least 3–5% average selling price delta between Amazon and eBay (your profit floor).
